Ah, the wonders of Spain's Capital City - Madrid.
From World-renowned Museums to quaint Villages, there is something for everyone in this beautiful Country of Spain. Its picture-perfect scenery and rich history make it the perfect setting for exploring and documenting your adventures in colourful Stationery, and Madrid is the perfect City to explore this passion.
Spain's capital is full of stunning architecture, world-famous Museums, and delicious food. Plus, it's the perfect destination for a few days trip, with plenty of gorgeous spots just outside the City limits that can be easily reached by Train. I have been fortunate enough to visit this City quite a few times and recently had the chance to go back, stay with friends and with them explore Madrid and some of the surrounding villages.
On this trip to Madrid, we explored some of the surrounding Cities. We started off in Guadalajara, just outside of the City. It was my first time in this Town, and I was absolutely mesmerized by the architecture and atmosphere. The City is full of beautiful buildings and cobblestone streets, and the people are so friendly! I definitely recommend a visit if you're ever in the area.
Next, we made our way to Cuenca. It was so quaint, and I just loved it! The historic fortified City of Cuenca is located on a look-out point between the gorges of the Huécar and Júcar rivers. My favourite thing was all the Art that was everywhere. The Town is full of Artists! There are paintings and sculptures on almost every street corner, a beautiful square, and not to mention famous residents that used to reside there. It was such a unique experience, and I'm so glad I got to explore this side of Spain.
Next we went to Brihuega which is this adorable small town near Guadalajara that was just so picturesque.
And of course, I made my way back to the Capital City and explored the Prado & Thyssen Museums in Central Madrid; because what would a Madrid trip be without that? To top it all off, I ended the trip with night time drinks with my friends at the rooftop bar on the top of the Cibeles Town Hall, Palacio de Cibeles. The views were absolutely stunning - this City is truly a scrapbook lover's dream!
